Writing and Directing
Francisca Borges is a Portuguese writer and director based in Rome.
She is a graduate of the BFA in English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of Surrey and completed a MFA in Film Arts at RUFA.
She has since written and directed three short films and produced and co-written others.
Film Criticism & Translation
During her time at university she began writing reviews and analyses of films and TV series, many having been published in The Stag, the University of Surrey's magazine.
She uses her proficiency in three languages - Portuguese, English and Italian - by working as a translator for a number of film festivals, such as the Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna and Indie Lisboa in Lisbon.
